First of all…* Breathe *
I guess many of you might not take this leap right out of college. But for those who are considering it or have already made plans to do so – I have one piece of advice for you –
Ahem, here it goes… The best way to become comfortable and get to know your city is to get lost in it!
Find reasons to get out there and attend events. Try networking events – one of the best and least shady way to get to know people. Unless all networking projects share the same space – they’ll be located in different parts of a city. On you’re way there (unless you’re anal and already have exact directions to a T) you might get lost. As long as it’s during the day IT’S OKAY. You’ll just get to know you’re surroundings again. This SHOULD be a good way for you to get to know the city. Unless you’re body has not blessed you with a good sense of direction.
Find out the top places that tourists like to visit and go explore it! You’re bound to find some part of the culture of the city there. You’ll get a feel of the pace how friendly people are.
Since the invention of the internet you have no excuse to explore the boundaries outside of you’re neighborhood door.
Don’t be afraid… GET OUT THERE!
So you’re just out of school, you’re working for next to nothing and you have a friend who’s birthday is coming up soon. You don’t really have enough money to support yourself much less by a friend a Birthday present without going broke… What do you do?
You by them a drink or two or few haha. Think about it, a shot of w/e it is they drink or you want them to drink will cost you about $9 on the high end. You buy two of them and you’ve got a $20 gift worth the memories ;).
It sounds cheap, but when you’re volunteering for a living, you have to make it work :).
I have an answer
To a question
That has been left unanswered
Why do women strut and parade themselves around?
That a mate will pay attention
While males eyes are constantly engourged by the ever present variety of women at his disposal
Displaying it metaphorically across our bodies
Making it easy for the undeserving to take advantage
Uncreative spirits write their desires across their bodies
By the testosterone flowing through his veins
Signfy a physical connection with purposeful intention
Someone makes the first move
That this would be the connection that changes your world
Biologically he is hoping you’ll feel as good as you look
Getting increasingly more turned on by each others presence
But we can’t resist
The most powerful action
To hold back form the urge until you feel the energy pouring out of your being
To connect with another body
This… is exactly why we continue to play the games we play.
|“Finding Center” (c) ShutterOfHope|
I’m a firm believer that everyone needs a moment to find center. In the everyday hustle of life, we find ourselves preoccupied with meeting deadlines and satisfying the needs of others in order for ourselves to get ahead. How much time do we take to take care of our own needs. Take inventory of what’s going on in our lives and check in on where we are mentally and emotionally. We may all be surprised that we just need a break from the outside world, so that we can be attentive to our spirit.
Take a moment to check in on yourself…
