Have you ever just stopped
For Fall
Listened for it
The rustle of the tumbling foliage
Watched for it
Leaves leaving last season’s colors behind
Changing into different flavors of chips
The weepy disposition of a willow
Been lulled to silence
By the song of the wind and the leaves
Just sat still
And let it embrace you
The wind blow warm kisses upon your check
The wind
Capture a whispered secret and carry it away
For the most graceful of tragic stores
For a season so alive with color
But so close lifelessness
As it continues along its graceful pursuit of Winter
